 Campus Ministries

The Community Life and Worship Program provides student-focused events which integrate faith, learning and community for students, faculty and staff. The events will consist of chapel on Tuesday mornings (Community Worship) and other specified co-curricular programming (Community Life) open to the entire campus community.

All full-time undergraduate students are required to attend at least ten (10) Community Life and Worship (CLW) events per semester for a total of seven (7) semesters.  A student may bank CLW credits by attending more than 10 events in a semester.   Participation in the CLW program is required for graduation from Carson-Newman.

“How will my student know what classes to take?”

Every student has an Academic Advisor

Every advisor on campus has designated office hours – time dedicated to meeting with, academically advising, and otherwise assisting students. Each semester, advisors will post their selected office hours on or near their office door so that your student knows when they’re available.

Advisors are here to help your student pursue and complete their degree. Your student and advisor will meet at least once a semester to create the next semester’s schedule and to make sure they are on track to graduate in their chosen field. We recommend your student getting to know their advisor well and meeting with them more than once a semester to ensure that you’re always pushing toward graduation and staying focused on their academic success.

If they have not yet decided on a major, they will be assigned an advisor in our Student Success Center. There, they’ll help your student take general education courses and find a major that interests them and fits their skill sets.

Registrar’s Office

The Office of the Registrar provides important information for your student’s academic success. If your student needs to add or drop a class, obtain academic records, send off their official transcripts or it is their time to apply for graduation, the Registrar’s Office is the place to go.
